506,324. Centrifugal pumps. NIJHUIS. G. J. Nov. 16, 1938, No. 33373. [Class 110 (i)] An impeller has the outer leading surface 12, Fig. 3, of one blade parallel with or at a small outward converging angle to the inner leading surface 8 of the following blade while in each blade 9 the inner rear surface 14 is concave and merges gradually into the outer part'13 which is parallel with or at a small outward diverging angle to the surface 12. Surfaces 8 and 12 are substantially flat or slightly curved and these surfaces meet in a line 10 which is further from the axis than the adjacent part of surface 12. The pump has an inlet opening 2, Fig. 2, merging into an annular passage. communicating with a fixed distributer 3.
