Abstract

1, 059, 648. Determining the parameters of raceways. ZKL VYZKUMNY USTAV PRO VALIVA LOZISKA. Aug. 31, 1964 [Oct. 31, 1963], No. 35505/64. Heading G1M. In an apparatus for checking the parameters of races e.g. ball bearing races, the races 1 are fed in along a shoot 2 and moved through a cleaning device 17 by a reciprocable ram 3 on to a platform 5 mounted on a reciprocable bar 8. In the displaced position of the bar 8 the race 1 is supported by contacts 21, 22 and between pivoted levers 11, 12. A rotatable disc 15 is then moved to the left (as shown in Fig. 1) inserting its centre part into the bore of the race to impart rotation to the race 1. A guard roller 13 lying in contact with race 1 is rotated by its movement. The periphery of the roller 13 is provided with a slotted disc 13c, so that by illuminating the slots the number of revolutions of the roller may be detected by a photo-electric device. To determine the shape deviation of the raceway, the raceway is mounted on contacts 21, 21, contact 22 being rotatably mounted on spring blades so that at any deviation the contact 22 moves to operate an electrical detector. The magnitude of the diameter of the raceway is determined by an air pressure jet incorporated in the contact 22. The diameter and non-sphericity of the raceway are also determined by an electrical stylus 23.
