Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure very easy moving operation and measuring work with a compact equipment by determining a stereo coordinate at the tip of a measuring element from the angle of rotation of individual specified shafts on which four arms are successively provided in a rotatable manner and said arms are connected with each other. CONSTITUTION:A first arm 14 freely rotatable on a shaft B is pivoted on a mount plate 11 freely rotatable on a shaft A of a strut 9. A second arm 13, a detecting arm 17 and a measuring element arm 18 are successively pivoted at the tip thereof on respective shafts F, E and G in such a manner as to be free to rotate while a measuring tip 25 is mounted at the tip of the arm 18. These adjacent shafts are positioned to intersect each other at the right angle and the angle of rotation thereof is detected with an encoder. With such an arrangement, the tip 25 is brought into contact with a measuring point to determine a stereo coordinate from the length of each arm and the angle of rotation of each shaft. This ensures very easy moving operation and measuring operation with a compact equipment.
