Abstract

1,059,070. Rope slings. OY P.G. HOLM AB. Dec. 22, 1965 [June 10, 1965; Nov. 22, 1965], No. 54415/65. Heading B8H. A sling is formed from a hollow tubular braided rope 1 by inserting an end 1a into the interior of the rope as at 3a and out again as at 3b. When the rope is under tension the axial bore becomes smaller and grips the end of the rope passing through it. The size of loop is adjusted by pulling on the end 1a. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates a method of attaching the two ends of a sling to each other. A lever 17 may be used to pull the sling tight. Fig. 5 (not shown) illustrates two tubular mesh rope slings 31, 33 used to secure a load of sacks in a lifting sling 30. By pulling a release rope 35 the loop 34 may be disconnected to release the slings 31, 33 from each other.
