1,057,402. Seaming non-metallic sheet material. J. H. FENNER & CO. Ltd. Sept. 13, 1965 [Sept. 12, 1964], No. 37386/64. Heading B5K. [Also in Division F2] A method of joining together the ends of a belt of woven natural or synthetic fibres, or of extruded sheet synthetic material, e.g. P.V.C., comprises cutting complementary V-serrations in the belt ends, coating the cut edges with an uncured or partly cured butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer, fitting the complementary ends together, and curing the copolymer. The cut edges are painted with a poly-isocyanate adadhesive and a strip of uncured butadieneacrylonitrile copolymer laid between the complementary faces before they are brought together. A protective P.V.C. impregnated fabric coating may be applied in the region of the joint prior to curing the copolymer.
