Abstract

[Also in Division B8] A cover for securing a package 53, Fig. 2 (not shown), to a pallet 42 and for securing the package 53 and pallet 42 to a vehicle (not shown) in which the package 53 is to be carried comprises a cross made of netting and consisting of a central rectangle 11 and arms 12, 13, 14, 15. An edge tape 17 is provided around the cover to which rings 16 are attached so that a lashing cord 49 can pass through these rings 16 to secure the cover to the pallet 42. The arms 12, 13, 14, 15 have strengthening webs 18, 19, 20, 21 and lashing rings 39, 41; 38, 35; 34, 32; 31, 28, respectively, which are lashed together in pairs, when the cover is in use, to form a strengthening band around the package 53, Fig. 4 (not shown). Rings 40, 37, 36, 33, 30 and 29 are joined by other strengthening webs 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and are connected to vehicle fittings 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, as in an aircraft, by separate adjustable straps 58, 57, 59, 60. 51, 50, 54, 52, 55, 56.
