Abstract

1,056,452. Spray carburetters. MOSCOVSKY AVTOMAKHANICHESKY INSTITUTE and MOSCOVSKY KARBURATORNY ZAVOD. July 1, 1963, No. 17235/63. Heading F1B. The delivery of fuel from a carburetter nozzle is controlled by electromagnetic means responsive to engine operating conditions. In Figs. 1 and 3 flow of fuel from a pump 7 to a nozzle 14, Fig. 3, is controlled by a plunger 13 which is actuated by an electromagnet 11 controlled by an electronic pulse circuit 4 which is triggered by pulses from the distributor 18, the duration of the pulses from circuit 4 being controlled by devices 5 responsive to engine variables. In Fig. 3 the nozzle 14 opens into. a passage 16 which is connected to a point on the upstream side of throttle valve 2. The devices 5 comprise rheostats controlled by engine suction, engine load, engine temperature, or atmospheric pressure. One device 5 may form an acceleration device, a diaphragm 27, Fig. 7 (not shown), being normally raised by engine suction to short-circuit a resistance 30 and being lowered to bring the resistance 30 into circuit when the suction is reduced during acceleration. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the fuel nozzle opens into a passage H by-passing the throttle valve 2 and in Fig. 5 (not shown) it opens into a passage O in a stationary hub for the throttle valve. The fuel is controlled by a hollow plunger 13 actuated by electromagnet 11.
