Abstract

1,056,095. Stoppers. C.A.V. Ltd. Feb. 22. 1965 [March 31, 1964], No. 13098/64. Heading B8T. [Also in Division F2] A cylindrical closure plug 10, Fig. 2 (not shown), for fluid containers, includes an annular groove 12 containing a resilient, preferably rubber, sealing ring 13, a second annular groove 14 accommodating a circlip 15, bearing against, or entering a groove in the wall of a hole in the container to retain the plug, a portion 16 of the upper face of the plug being cut away to permit the circlip 15 to be compressed to remove the plug. Withdrawal of the plug is further facilitated by one or two screw-threaded blind bores in the upper end of the plug, Fig. 1 (not shown). to receive an extraction tool. The circlip may, as shown, abut a step in the hole to limit the entrance of the plug, or alternatively the plug may be of complementary stepped form.
