Abstract

1,001,045. Fluid pressure motors. H. TEVES, E. A. TEVES, and M. TAUSEND, [trading as ALFRED TEVES MASCHINEN-UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMM. GES.] Feb. 6, 1963 [March 21, 1962], No. 4848/63. Heading F1P. A single acting piston and cylinder device has a piston 7 provided with a groove 11 having located therein a radially yielding ring 13 adapted to snap outwardly into a second groove 9 in the end 5 of the cylinder 1 and to be expanded tightly therein by a ramp 12 which forms an inclined wall of the groove 11 to limit further outward travel of the piston. The wall of the groove 9 is inclined to form a further ramp 10 which forces the ring 13 back into the groove 11 when the piston is returned. The radially yielding ring 13 may be located in the groove 9 instead of the groove 11 whereby the ring snaps inwardly into the groove 11. The ramps 10, 12 may be on the other side of their respective grooves.
