Abstract

1,054,130. Pulverulent ferrochromium alloy. KNAPSACK A.G. Dec.2, 1964 [Dec.6, 1963], No.49005/64. Headings C7A and C7X. [Also in Division F3] A ferrochromium powder having a smooth spherical surface area comprises:- Cr 10-30% Al 0À05-1À0% C 0À01-0À5% Si 0À5-5À0% the balance, apart from impurities such as P, S, Mn and Ti, being iron. The alloy may be atomized by conventional means from a melt or by passing ground powder through a flame zone to cause surface melting and thus allowing the surface to become smoother. The powder may be used in the sink float method for ore dressing or as a filter in blank fire or training ammunition.
