Abstract
1,212,655. Alloys for deoxidizing steel melts. HTTENWERK OBERHAUSEN A.G. July 15, 1969 [Aug.1, 1968], No.35604/69. Headings C7A and C7D. An alloy for deoxidizing a steel melt to provide a semi-skilled product comprises:- Mn 50-85% Si 2-15% Ti 0À02-0À5% and optionally Al 0À5-5% the balance, apart from impurities such as carbon, being Fe. The alloy is added to the melt prior to pouring to bring the Mn content thereof into the range 0À35-1À2%.
