[Also in Division F1] An outboard propulsion unit, in which a lubricating oil sump in an intermediate body portion is substantially divided into two sections by a water jacket situated vertically centrally of the lubricating oil sump, has cooling fins provided in the lubricating oil sump at positions adjacent the water jacket section. Cooling water passing through the water jacket section cools the oil in the oil sump, i.e. the lubricating oil sump functions as a lubricating oil cooler.
