Valves.-In an engine with inclined cylinders, and pistons connected to a common crank, the distribution is controlled bv a pair of piston valves 20, 21 driven from a common pin 19 on a half-speed shaft 18 and working in valve cylinders 22, 23 open to and inclined to the main cylinders. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the axes of the working cylinders are inclined at 90 degrees and those of the valve cylinders at 135 degrees. The piston valves control exhaust ports 29, 29a and terminal inlet ports 27. 27a. Specification 105,250 is referred to.
