Abstract
1,048,138. Finned-tube radiators for cooling liquids. SUTTON POWER UNITS Ltd. June 12, 1964 [July 19, 1963], No. 28640/63. Heading F4S. In an air cooled radiator, particularly for an internal combustion engine, the liquid to be cooled flows through a plurality of conduits 6 arranged between an inlet header 1a a return header 2, and, downstream in the cooling air flow, an outlet header 1b. The conduits are of rectangular cross-section and are arranged horizontally in four vertical rows A, B, C, D (Fig. 4, not shown). A plurality of vertical fins 7 with dimples 8 are closely spaced in the region traversed by the conduits. Any of the headers 1, 2 may have a removable side wall (not shown) to facilitate cleaning the conduits.
