Abstract
707,593. Cooling radiators and systems for engines. ELZE, W. Aug. 10, 1951 [Aug. 11, 1950], No. 18835/51. Class 64(3) In a radiator for cooling of a coolant of an installation such as a compressor or vehicle motor, two or more sets 10 of coolant tubes open into a common header 13 at the top but each set has its own header at the bottom and cooling air is passed over the tubes in succession, e.g. drawn by a fan 8, additional cooling air being drawn through openings or an opening 11 between the bottom headers. The coolant, such as water, flows from an inlet 5 to an outlet 6. An air vent 12 is provided at the top. The sets of tubes may be separately replaceable. The radiator is used where there are two motors, or a motor and a compressor, working with a coolant flowing in series through the machines.
