Abstract

1,048,110. Two-part couplings; fuses; fuse bases. BRITISH GENERAL MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. May 19, 1965 [Nov. 23, 1964], No. 47540/64. Headings H2E and H2G. A single, two- or three-way adaptor or a plug has line, neutral and earth pins 4, 5, and 6 (Fig. 3, not shown), and line, neutral and earth socket assemblies 8, 9 and 10 (Figs. 5, 6 and 7, not shown), the socket assembly 8, Fig. 8, and the pin 4, Fig. 8, being electrically connected by a cartridge fuse 25 insertable and removable together with a carrier 21. The fuse caps engage spring clips 20, 18, clip 20 being connected to the assembly 8 and clip 18 being connected to the pin 4 by a portion 17 having a flange 16 clamped between the pin 4 and an insulating block 14, see Figs. 10 and 11 (not shown), block 14 being fixed to pin 4 by a screw 15. The resilient insulating carrier 21 has a finger lug 28 and projections 26 to resiliently grip the fuse.
