Abstract

1,044,712. Panels for shuttering for casting walls. SYMONS MANUFACTURING CO. March 13, 1964, No. 10797/64. Heading E1S. Shuttering used in casting a concrete wall is assembled from panels each comprising a rectangular steel frame 20, a plywood sheet 18 on one side of the frame, and a part-cylindrical metal sheet 50 fitted within the frame behind the plywood sheet, the cavity between the sheet 18 and the sheet 50 being filled with a foamed plastics material 60. Each panel may also be provided with struts 56 welded between the frame members and with an electrical heating circuit near its periphery. The panels are connected together side by side to form shuttering (as in Figure 1, not shown) by T-members and wedges inserted in suitable apertures in the frame members. Registering notches in adjacent panels receive ties connecting the shuttering on each side of the concrete wall.
