A tie for formwork comprises closed loops of wire f which are covered between the form walls c by rigid shells d and plates e and are tensioned by wedges g acting, if desired, on suitably grooved shortening pieces h. Vertical panel ends and corners may also be braced by using suitable coverplates and slotted U- clamps, see Figs. 3 and 6 (not shown), respectively.
