Abstract

1,044,551. Piston seals. RUBBER PLASTICS Ltd. Jan. 9, 1964 [Jan. 19, 1963], No. 1058/64. Heading F2T. The wall 3 of a cap-shaped rolling diaphragm seal for a piston 1 is made of unreinforced elastomeric material; e.g. polyurethane, and increases in thickness from near the base 2 of the diaphragm towards the rim of the wall. The rim of the wall may have an inwardly or outwardly extending radial flange which may be provided with an anchoring bead 4. The base 2 may be annular, Fig. 2, and may have a reinforcing insert 6.
