Abstract

1530600 Pipe couplings SAAB SCANIA AB 16 Aug 1976 [30 Dec 1975] 53090/75 Heading F2G A nipple 4 of rigid plastics material is fitted into an aperture 15 in a wall 11 of a plastics tank by means of a resilient bushing 5, Fig. 2, which has a flange 14 to abut the wall 11 and a bead 13 on its inner surface 12 and the nipple being provided with a flange 10 to abut the flange 14 and a bead 7 which when the nipple 4 is pressed into position force the bead 13 on the bushing 4 radially outwardly beyond the aperture 15 in the wall 11 to provide a seal and to retain the nipple 4 in place. If desired a further bead 9 may be provided on the nipple 4 to provide a better seal. The bushing 5 is preferably of rubber or polymerized epichlorohydrine.
