Abstract

[Also in Division F4] A device for dispensing, e.g. pressurized liquefied gas contained in a bottle 48 comprises a body 40 having a bore 41 in which a tubular member 42 is axially movable by rotation of a cap 51 secured thereto to move a pin 43 into piercing and sealing engagement with the bottle 48 with a force determined by the degree of compression of a resilient element disposed between the pin 43 and an adjustable stop 46 screwed into the tubular member 42. The resilient element 44 is preferably a plug of hard rubber and is separated from the stop 46 by a spacer 45. To release fluid from the bottle 48 to an outlet 49 the cap 51 is rotated in the opposite direction, a cross-pin 52 being arranged to abut a flange 53 to limit the rotation thereof. A relief valve 50 is provided.
