Abstract

1,043,726. Dynamo - electric machines. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 7, 1963 [June 12, 1962], No. 22763/63. Heading H2A. In a small machine, e.g. a shaver motor, the rotor bearings 6, 16 are carried in cylindrical end-shields 9, 14 fitting against the stator laminations 1 and closely fitting round the rotor-ends to stimulate ventilation through holes 11, 17. The end-shields are located by lugs (22, Figs. 5 and 7, not shown) which enter recesses (20, Fig. 4, not shown) in the core-stack. The assembly may be secured by through bolts or (Fig. 8, not shown) by spring clips 28 engaging lands 23, 31 on the end-shields. The fieldcoils are wedge-shaped (Fig. 2, not shown). The lower end-shield may carry brushes for commutator 15.
