987,375. Brush-holders for dynamo-electric machines. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 19, 1963 [June 21, 1962], No. 24212/63. Heading H2A. A brush-holder assembly consists of a pair of brush-arms 8, each carrying a brush 9, and pivoted in a notch 10 in a support bracket 3 fixed to a mounting plate 1, each arm having a pressed-up or otherwise secured spring-blade 11 acting against the support bracket. The brushes 9 may be of gauze or carbon, and when these are worn an extension 13 prevents the brush-arm fouling the commutator 12. The whole assembly is inserted, and retains itself, in an aperture in the housing 15 of a. small motor, e.g. of the construction described in Specification 987,374.
