Abstract

1284193 Casings and brushgear for dynamoelectric machines SIEMENS AG 27 Nov 1970 [28 Nov 1969] 56584/70 Heading H2A A stator yoke for an electric motor is formed of stamped sheet metal bent into a substantially cylindrical portion 9 having an integral extension 16, Fig. 4, adapted to retain a brushholder. The yoke disclosed has two extensions 16 each having two pairs of projections 17. Diametrically opposite pairs of projections each form a knife-edge bearing for a part 18 of a brush-holder 11, Fig. 2, holding a brush 12 urged against a commutator 7 by a spring 19 engaging a hole 20 in a projection 21 of the extension 16. A further extension 21 urges the part 18 of the brush-holder against the knifeedge bearing. The yoke has stamped out parts 31, 32 and shoulders 33, 34, against which magnets 10 are respectively peripherally and axially urged by a spring 37, Figs. 7-11 (not shown). End plates 13, 14, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown), are secured to the yoke by lugs 25, 26 on the yoke being caulked to the plates. Further lugs 29, 30, on the yoke are caulked to a support spider 15. The motor disclosed drives a fan (8).
