Abstract

1,043,425. Hydro-pneumatic shock-absorbers. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Nov. 20, 1963 [Nov. 24, 1962], No. 46742/63. Heading F2S. A hydro-pneumatic spring suspension strut 1 comprising a shock-absorber 2 and an air spring 3 formed by a rolling-diaphragm 6 located between an inner spacer cylindrical member 10 connected to the upper end of the shockabsorber 2 and a hood 4 carried by a piston-rod 5 is characterized in that air is directed over the upper end of the shock-absorber 2 to cool the working fluid therein by means of an airguiding arrangement 15. The latter, preferably made of synthetic resin, comprises a ring 16 which is secured to the shock-absorber 2 and has mounted thereon with flow-assisting bends such as 19, 21 two diametrically opposed air deflector ribs, one shown, 17, arranged in a radial plane axially parallel to the shockabsorber 2. To improve the air deflection properties the ring 16 may be provided with two jaw-shaped air guides located in the direction of flow of windage.
