The invention relates to a load-bearing strut with a
the support force absorbing spring member and a telescopically extendable tubular body,
in which a tubular shock absorber is guided, the piston rod of which with a
Openings provided bottom plate of the tubular body is connected, the between
the tubular body and the tubular shock absorber existing annulus a connection
having with the ambient air and axially spaced guide elements
are provided with passage openings extending in the longitudinal direction.
Because with a shock absorber of this type, the shock absorber fluid is not
can be used for lubrication, special attention must be paid to the cooling of the guides
To be valued. A well-known shock absorber of this type has a top and a
lower guide element, of which the upper one on the tubular body and the lower one on the shock absorber
is attached. When this strut is extended, through the openings in the
Base plate an amount of air determined by the negative pressure generated in the tube body
sucked in, which when retracting essentially through the same openings again
is pressed out without making a significant contribution to cooling in particular
to be able to afford the guide attached to the shock absorber. In between the two
Guides located annulus flows when retracting through the air passage openings
a relatively small amount of air into the guide attached to the pipe body,
which heats up and when it is extended again through the air passage openings
the upper guide flows out, so that also on the guide attached to the tubular body
only a slight cooling is effected.
The invention is based on the task at a load-bearing
Strut of the type described to create improved cooling through fresh air.
This is achieved according to the invention in that the in the base plate of the tubular body
openings provided are valve openings that are opened when the tubular body is retracted
open and closed when it is extended. These are one-way valves,
whose closing force can be overcome more easily than the flow resistance in
the air passage openings of the guides. When retracting, almost all
air between the tubular body and the shock absorber through the valve openings
pushed out while extending through the air passage openings of the guides
inevitably the amount of cooling air must flow that is caused by the negative pressure in the pipe body
is sucked in. It is thus achieved that almost exclusively fresh cooling air
is brought up to the guides, while still compared to the known embodiment
there is a significantly increased flow velocity. Both the lower air temperature
as well as the increased flow velocity cause a considerable increase
the cooling capacity. With this arrangement, even if the actual
Shock absorber achieved a certain damping effect. It is also more dusty than that
Very insensitive to air because the essentially unidirectional air circulation prevents the
and keeps valve openings largely free of dust.
The invention is furthermore based on an exemplary embodiment
Referring drawing illustrates that an overall view of the invention
Shows strut in longitudinal section.
The strut consists in a known manner essentially from the telescopically extendable tubular body 1, the lower end of which z. B. is connected to a kingpin 2. The tubular body carries a plate 3 on which the spring 4 is supported. Instead of this spring 4 , another spring member that absorbs the supporting force can also be used, e.g. B. provided within the shock absorber 5, also known per se gas pressure spring. In the illustrated embodiment, the spring 4 is also supported on an upper plate 6, which is connected to the cylinder-side end of the shock absorber 5, which can be connected to the vehicle frame. The piston rod 7, which is screwed into the base plate 8 of the tubular body 1, can extend out of the shock absorber 5. Between the outer jacket of the shock absorber 5 and the inner surface of the tubular body 1 are the guides 9, which, for. B. can be held between circumferential beads 10 of the tubular body 1 . The guides 9 have air passage openings 11 through which the cooling air flows. The guides 9 do not need to form coherent guide rings, but can also be interrupted in their circumferential direction.
The valve openings provided in the base plate 8 of the tubular body 1
12 can be closed on the outside by means of a valve spring washer 13, the one
has limited axial displacement range. In this way the valve disc rises
when the tubular body is retracted and is kept closed when it is extended.
Your freedom of movement can, for. B. be guaranteed by a guide sleeve 14,
which is held in place with the piston rod nut 15.
The fresh air required for cooling is in the already described
Way, always sucked in through the air passage openings .the upper guide 9.
In order to limit the entry of contaminants with the cooling air, can.
at the upper end of the shock absorber 5 a tubular upper guide 9 covering
Cap can be used. In the meantime, sucked-in dust can also enter the openings 11 of the guides
pass freely and initially collect on the base plate 8, then when opening
of the valve disc 13 to be blown out through the valve openings 12. the
Valve openings 12 are expediently arranged in the vicinity of the outer circumference of the base plate 8
and rounded with their walls in the direction of the jacket of the tubular body 1
executed. This achieves on the entry side that there is at the edge of the guide plate
8 accumulating dust is safely discharged while on the exit side
the air flow is directed towards the inner wall of the tubular body 1, so that
also no contamination in the space between the lifted valve plate
13 and the lower surface of the base plate 8 can penetrate.
