A luggage case similar to that of the parent Specification, comprising a pair of plastics shells 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, each having a side wall and surrounding top, end and bottom walls with a rectangular frame T<SP>1</SP>, G<SP>1</SP> secured to the top, end and bottom walls of the two shells respectively, the frames being hinged together along the bottom walls, is modified in that the frame T<SP>1</SP> is provided along that part of its length adjacent the top wall of the shell 10 with one channel 51 in which the shell wall is secured and is also provided with a spaced second channel 151 into which the edge of the frame G<SP>1</SP>, secured to the top wall of the second shell 10<SP>1</SP>, slides when the case is closed. The portion 57<SP>1</SP> between the two channels 51, 151 provides a recess for latches and a handle of the case. The parts of the frame T<SP>1</SP> secured to the end walls of the shell 10, Fig. 4 (not shown), are similarly formed with the channels into one of which the frame G<SP>1</SP> slides when the case is closed. The inner edge 159, Fig. 5 (not shown), of the bottom edge of the frame T<SP>1</SP> adjacent the case hinge H may as illustrated be grooved to receive the edge of the frame G<SP>1</SP>.
