Abstract
1,037,902. Core constructions. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. March 26, 1965 [March 28, 1964], No. 13066/65. Heading H2A. The stator of a dynamo-electric machine is formed by closely helically winding a sheetmetal strip 4 having outwardly directed slots 5, to form an inner stator ring 3 and separately closely helically winding sheet metal strip 1 on edge to form an outer stator ring, the two rings being subsequently assembled one within the other. The outer stator ring 1 is preferably heat treated before assembly, the resulting blue film providing insulation between the strips 1 and the inner ring 3. The strips may be formed from grain oriented metal having the directions of higher permeability as indicated by arrows V1, V2 or (Fig. 5, not shown) in two orthogonal directions. The ring 3 may be insulated from the ring 1 by tape which may be disposed around the periphery of the grooves 5 or by glass fibre bonded by epoxy resin. In Figs. 5, 6 (not shown) the outer core is wound in the form of multi-start helices of a plurality of strips of different width arranged so that the radial distance of the inner diameter of any wound strip of a given width is different from any other such strip.
