Abstract

Known pole plates for electric machines are designed from sheet metal stacks or laminated stacks. The sheets are stamped out of a sheet metal strip and processed individually or as a combined stack of sheets. However, the stamping process requires a high weight of material. The aim of the invention is to drastically reduce said weight of material. The invention therefore proposes a pole plate or stator laminations that is or are constructed of several flat layers of metal (1). To achieve bundles of metal layers (1) that are packed in screw form, a metal strip (2) is wound around a support body (3), in particular a dome, said strip being formed into a screw (8) by edge winding rolls. The support body (3) is then removed leaving the metal layers (1) packed in screw form. One application of the invention is for engines with an air gap winding, specifically supercharger engines.
