1287720 Stator cores for dynamo-electric machines JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 28 Aug 1969 8998/72 Divided out of 1286462 Heading H2A A stator assembly for a starter motor comprises a tubular, magnetic, sheet-metal casing 17 and a number of magnetic members 11-14 of cast or powdered material secured within the casing and providing salient poles, the magnetic members having recesses 15 on their radially outer surfaces into which portions of the casing are deformed so as to increase the thickness of magnetic material at the poles. A winding 16 extends around the poles.
