Abstract
1,037,811. Blasting. TILGHMAN'S Ltd. June 17, 1964 [March 18, 1963], No. 6396/63 Heading B3D. A lining for the guard housing of a centrifugal blasting wheel comprises a plurality of lining pieces, made of blast wear-resisting material and provided with mating members adjacent their edges so that the pieces fit together to provide an assembled lining whose joints are proof against leakage of abrasive shot and whose inner surface has contours which are substantially non-angular. A housing 12 for a centrifugal blasting wheel has a lining of wear-resistant material. Each vertical side of the lining is made up of segmental piece 13, 14, 15 held by bolts 16 to the inside of the housing. The sides are bridged by pieces 18, 19, 21, 22, 23. The pieces 18, 19 abut lateral projections 20 formed on the sides of the lining. The pieces 21, 22, 23 are of channel cross-section and have lateral projections allowing them to rest on the top edges of the side lining pieces 14. The upper ends of the pieces 18, 19 are flared at 25; the piece 22 is flared at both ends. Adjusting screws 26 in the housing 12 bear on the pieces 18, 19. The housing has a lid 27 provided with a rubber plug 28 which bears on the piece 22 when screws 29 are tightened.
