Abstract

1,033,635. Container closures; flexible plastics containers. REXALL DRUG & CHEMICAL CO. May 29, 1964 [May 31, 1963], No. 22398/64. Headings B8D and B8T. A container assembly, Fig. 5, comprises a blow moulded container body 11 of a resilient flexible plastics material having a neck structure or tubular end portion with inclined wall portions 17, 19 and 21 as shown, portions 19, 21 forming a rim, which receives a cover 12, in a non-removable manner, of moulded plastics material. The cover has two annular depending skirts 33, 34, the skirt 34 having a rib 38 which, when the cover is forced into position, engages below the portion 19. The neck portions are flexible whereas the closure skirts are relatively rigid whereby during assembly the portions 19 and 21 are flexed as they are forced between the rib 38 and the inner skirt 33. The cover has dispensing apertures closed by a removable tape. In Fig. 7 (not shown) an annular groove at the top of the inner skirt receives the inner edge of the inclined wall portion 55. The above arrangements may also be used for the bottoms of containers, the apertures being in the top or bottom walls. As an alternative arrangement portions 19 and 21 may slope in the reverse directions and the rib 38 is then provided on the inner skirt.
