Oppositely-running rotor type; combinedflow type.-Relates to turbines of the type having oppositelyrunning rotors b, c provided with radialflow blade systems d, e and also with axialflow systems f, g, receiving the motive fluid discharged from the radial-flow systems, and consists in arranging the roots of the blades f, g in projections l of the disks b, c so that the roots lie outside the outermost radial-flow blade ring, by a distance of more than three times the height of a blade. The parts l may be connected to the disks b, c by thin members m of tapering or uniform thickness. The stator blades h, i carry inwardlyextending rings n.
