Abstract

1,031,279. Drawing or ornamenting appliances. MARVIN IRVING GLASS, [trading as MARVIN GLASS & ASSOCIATES]. Dec. 22, 1964 [Dec. 23, 1963], No. 52072/64. Heading B6P. A drawing or ornamenting appliance comprises a casing 12 with means 16 for carrying a thermoplastic crayon 20 and having a heated marking tip 40 with which the crayon can be brought into contact. The tip 40 is integral with a tubular part 14 of copper, aluminium or other heat conducting material coated on the inside with black paint, and enclosing an electric lamp bulb 30 constituting the heating element. A leaf-spring 18 carries the crayon holder 16, permitting the crayon to be moved into contact with the tip 40 so as to cause some of the crayon to flow on to the tip. The tip is scoop-shaped so that the width of a line drawn by the tip can be varied by tilting the appliance.
