[Also in Division F1] Grain is dried in a silo 1 by the passage therethrough of heated air from a central, perforated pipe 2 having a regulating stopper 3, the air passing from a furnace 7 through a pressure blower 4 having an outlet 5 communicating with an injector 6'which both reduces the pressure of the air and also permits ambient air to flow thereinto to reduce the speed of flow from the injector into a pipe 10 connected to the pipe 2. Working pressures are described of between 300 and 500 mm. water gauge for the air leaving the pressure blower which is reduced in the injector to 80 to 100 mm. The heating furnace 7 may be oil, gas or otherwise fired and either be integral with the injector or be constructed as a separate unit.
