Abstract
The system consists of a silo (1) fitted with a grid across the top. The centre of the silo has a chimney (2) and the maize is supplied through an elevator (3) unloading onto a discharge chute (4) which can rotate through 360o. The elevator is fed from a supply bin (5). The centre of the silo is connected to the ventilation tunnel (9) connected to a solar panel (11) and drawing outside air through the air inlet (12). The system is supplemented by means of a heat pump (17) which may be valved off.
