Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the mixing ratio of dry hot air within a specified range during drying work by circulating hot exhaust wind used for drying circulating grains so that the grains are bathed again in the hot exhaust wind when the water content of the grains and the mixing ratio of outer air drops below a specified value. CONSTITUTION: When the fact that the water content of grains to be dried is lower than about 25% and the mixing ratio of outer air is lower than 20 Gr/kg is detected during drying work, an on/off damper 132 is operated to increase the opening area of a ventilation passage 129 and to decrease that of an outer air intake window 130. A part of hot exhaust air discharged to the outside by a suction/exhaust unit 127 through a dust discharge tube 128 is returned back to an air supply chamber 124 along with the outer air sucked through the outer air intake window 130 and fed to a burner 125 before being supplied again to a hot air supply chamber as dry hot air of appropriate temperature. Mixing ratio of hot dry air obtained using a part of the hot exhaust air is held in the range of 10-20 Gr/kg by a damper 132 subjected to automatic opening control by the signal from an absolute humidity sensor disposed in the hot air supply chamber and the drying work is continued thus producing specified dry grains.
