Abstract

Stretch, multifilament yarn having little or no twist and no twist-liveliness is made in a continuous or discontinuous process by subjecting two bundles of nylon filaments to high twisting in opposite directions, heat-setting, backtwisting; then assembling and interlacing the bundles in random manner by passage through a zone in which a jet of inert gas is directed at right angles to the path of the travelling bundles; finally collecting the resultant yarn without inserting twist therein.
