Abstract

1,027,702. Reel stands. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Jan. 10, 1964 [Jan. 17, 1963], No. 1204/64. Heading B8M. A reel stand, which comprises on each side a lifting arm 4 secured to a boss 5, Fig. 2 (not shown), on a shaft 6 which is rotatably mounted in bearings in brackets 15, a supporting arm 8 rotatably mounted on boss 5, and a lifting cylinder 12, has hydraulic cylinders to displace bosses 5 on shaft 6 so as to adjust the width of the stand. Each arm 8 rests on supporting rolls 9. Bosses 5 are prevented from rotation on shaft 6 by keys. Reel driving means connected to an electric or hydraulic motor, and an adjustable brake may be provided on one of the stub shafts supporting the reel.
