The brackets are swung into a horizontal position (Fig. 2, not shown) to facilitate loading of the roll. The roll is moved towards the brackets until its shaft b is caught in a recess between arms d, d<SP>1</SP>. In the operative position shown bearings d<SP>3</SP> support sleeves b<SP>1</SP> adjustably secured to shaft b by grub screws.
