Abstract

1,024,748. Inflatable tents. WALTER KIDDE CO., Ltd. Nov. 14, 1963 [Nov. 20, 1962; May 14, 1963], Nos. 43900/62; 19048/63. Heading E1A. An inflatable tent having an arched framework formed of inflatable hoses 1 covered by an outer skin 2 is characterized in that a pair of draw cords are positioned in guides 14 formed in the skin at positions adjacent the framework hose whereby tensioning of the cords is effective to draw the skin down over the base and prevent movement of the skin in a direction transverse to the hose. The end wall of the tent is made up of panels 3, 4, 5 subdivided as shown by sliding clasp fasteners 8, 9 and provided with draw cords 6, 7. Additional guides for draw cords are disposed adjacent the base of the tent, see Fig. 2 (not shown), the draw cords being secured to spikes driven into the ground or the anchor shoes of the hoses.
