Abstract

791,695. Inflatable tent huts. ELLIOT EQUIPMENT, Ltd. Sept. 18, 1956 [Aug. 5, 1955], No. 22638/55. Class 20(1) An inflatable hut comprises a number of inflatable tubular arches 1 spaced by a connecting tubular ridge 5 and by longitudinal ground tubes 7 at each side supporting a weather cover 12. The tubes 7 may be connected by tapes 36 to prevent spreading. Smaller tubular arches on uprights 3, 4 are provided as entrances at each end. All the tubes can be inflated through an inflatable sleeve 8 closed by a captive cap 9 but the tubes may be subdivided with separate inflation means. The structure may also include inflatable purlins 6. The tubes are of large cross section about 1 ft. diameter to allow of low inflation pressure e.g. 0.25 Ibs. per sq. inch. The cover which includes windows 15 is split at the ends to form an entrance closed by a sliding fastener or held back by tapes 13. Hold down flaps (38, Fig. 3, not shown) may be provided for pickets. The window comprises a flexible transparent sheet 18 which may be rolled up when freed from the cord 27 in an eyelet 26 when a toggle grip 29 is passed back through the end loop of the cord 27. Above each window is a ventilator. A ground sheet 34 is connected as in Fig. 8.
