Abstract
1,024,627. Valves. ESCHER WYSS A.G. Dec. 28, 1962 [Dec. 29, 1961], No. 48881/62. Heading F2V. A by-pass valve for steam turbine plants has an inlet 4 through, which steam flows to an outlet 7 under the control of movable closure member 2, 3 arranged in series, each closure member having its own operating means 9, 11, respectively. A pipe 14 coiled around the outlet 7 and adjacent casing part 1 has its ends connected by conduits 15, 17 to the spaces between the closure member and operating means so that steam leaking past the guides for the closure member stems 8, 12 is used to heat the valve.
