18 in Fig. 2, bezw. 26 in Fig. 3, bezw.
Device for automatic adjustment of the axial play in the labyrinth stuffing boxes of steam turbines, centrifugal steam compressors and similar machines. The invention relates to a device for the automatic adjustment of the axial play in labyrinth stuffing boxes of steam turbines, centrifugal steam compressors and similar union machines that have a thrust bearing for receiving the axial thrust of their rotor.
If no precautions are taken with such stuffing boxes to be able to adjust the axial play, which changes with thermal expansion, a large amount of play must be allowed for when assembling the stuffing box, if all operating conditions are to be taken into account, so that large steam losses are accepted are taking. If, on the other hand, care has been taken to ensure that the axial play of the stuffing box can be adjusted by hand, there is a risk that the relatively fine teeth of the labyrinth combs will come into contact with opposing surfaces, which endangers operational safety.
The purpose of the invention is to create a device that automatically adjusts the axial play of labyrinth stuffing boxes in such a way that neither a large leakage nor contact with the comb teeth can occur, so that not only the economy of such stuffing boxes is improved, but rather their operational reliability is also increased.
For this purpose, according to the present invention, at least one rinthkämme the position of the non-rotating Laby be determined body attached to a part of the machine which determines the axial position of the thrust bearing and exposed to the temperature saturated steam.
which depends on the pressure at a pressure tapping point of the stuffing box, so that that body expands with increasing pressure at the pressure tapping point as a result of an increase in temperature and thereby adjusts the axial stuffing box play so that the pressure at the pressure tapping point decreases again while the named body When the pressure at the extraction point decreases, the stuffing box contracts as a result of a decrease in temperature, thereby adjusting its axial play so that the pressure at the extraction point increases again.
In the accompanying drawings, for example, embodiments of the invention are illustrated, namely: Fig. 1 shows part of an axial longitudinal section through the steam inlet end of a high-pressure steam turbine, in which .die stationary parts of a labyrinth stuffing box seen at this end are carried directly by the turbine housing and in which this housing is verbun by special bodies with a thrust bearing body, Fig. 2 shows an embodiment in which a rod,
. Which serves to connect a bearing body not shown to the turbine housing, partly from a cooling snake and also from a hollow body enclosing this snake, in which the stuffing box ent taken steam, Fig. ss a part of a parallel to perpendicular longitudinal center plane of a turbine through one of the claws of the housing of this turbine and through the body of a thrust bearing, as well as through a thrust bearing body with the claw connecting the body,
and FIG. 4 shows a section similar to FIG. 3 through an embodiment in which the space for receiving steam removed from the stuffing box is provided in a claw of the turbine housing which is in turn attached to the body of a thrust bearing.
In FIG. 1, 1 designates the housing and 2 the rotor of a multistage high pressure steam turbine with a steam inlet chamber 3. The support, not shown, of the housing 1 allows it to be displaced in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the turbine. At the high pressure end of this turbine, a labyrinth stuffing box is provided which has ridges 4 turned from the shaft: of the rotor 2 and ridges 5, 6 which do not rotate.
The teeth of the combs 5 are opposite to the teeth of the combs 6, so that the axial labyrinth game, if all the combs 5, 6 move by the same amount in the axial direction, is changed on the combs 5 in the opposite direction as on the Combs 6. The combs 5, 6 are attached to a sleeve 7 which is inserted directly into the turbine housing l so that they are carried by this housing. 8 denotes a thrust bearing which is used to absorb the axial thrust of the turbine rotor 2.
On the body 9 of this track bearing 8 body 10 (only one is shown in Fig. 1) are attached, each having a chamber 11 and are attached to the turbine housing 1 at 31 at the second end. The chamber 11 of each body 10 is connected through a line 12 with an annular space 13 of the labyrinth stuffing box in Ver, so that steam can be removed from this space 13 through the line 12.
The labyrinth combs 5, 6 are arranged on the sides of the pressure tapping point 1.3, namely. The combs 5 are located on the right and the combs 6 on the left side of this point. 14 denotes a serpentine pipe arranged around the body 10 through which a constant quantity of coolant flows. A discharge line 15 is also connected to the chamber 11. are built into the means, not shown, in .der the chamber 11 substantially the same pressure as in the annular space 13, that is. The pressure receiving point of the stuffing box. to maintain.
The dimensions of the chamber 11 and thus of the body 10, as well as the amount of coolant flowing through the coiled pipe 14, are dimensioned so that the steam removed from the stuffing box and entering the chamber 11 is always at saturation temperature. This is known to be a function of the vapor pressure. If, for example, the axial play between the combs 4 and 5 of the labyrinth stuffing box is too large, the pressure in the annular space 13, and consequently also in the chamber 11, is higher than normal. This also corresponds to a higher saturation temperature, so that the body 10 experiences greater heating.
As a result, it delmt from, and, 'since the bearing body 9 to which it is attached acts as a fixed point, this expansion must take place to the right. The consequence of this is that the turbine housing 1 verbun with the thermal expansion body 10 is pushed to the right ver, whereby the axial play between the combs 4, 5 automatically reduced in the desired manner and the between the combs 4, 6 is increased.
Conversely, if the axial play between the ridges 4, 5 is too small and that between the ridges 4, 6 is too large; so that the steam withdrawn from the stuffing box at 13 has a lower pressure than normal, a lower saturation temperature is established in the thermal expansion body 10, so that it contracts and thereby a displacement of the turbine housing 1 together with the combs 5, 6 carried by the same causes left. As a result, the axial play between the combs 4, 5 is enlarged and that between the combs 4, 6 is reduced, so that the normal pressure is quickly established in the annular space 13.
The thermal expansion body 10 exposed to the saturation temperature of the steam withdrawn from the stuffing box thus expands when the pressure at the pressure extraction point 13 of the stuffing box increases, as a result of which it automatically causes it to the right of the extraction point 13, i.e. in front of it, viewed in the direction of flow of the steam , a reduction and to the left of it, i.e. behind her, an enlargement of the axial labyrinth game,
while it contracts when the pressure drops at the removal point 13 and consequently causes an increase in the axial labyrinth game in front of this point and a reduction in the size behind it.
In many cases, the desired automatic setting of the axial labyrinth game can already be achieved with a single body 10. If they do not rotate the Labyi @ inthkämme 5, 6 are housed in a special stuffing box housing. instead of being carried directly by the turbine housing, the body is 10. respectively. the bodies 10 are to be attached at one end to the stuffing box housing.
In Fig. 2, 16 designates the body designed as a rod, which is exposed to the saturation temperature of the steam to be removed from the labyrinth stuffing box and at one end on the body of a thrust bearing (not shown) and on the other end either on the stuffing box housing, if one is present is, or is then attached to the turbine housing directly tra lowing the labyrinth combs. This rod 16 is for the most part surrounded by a body 17 which has a cavity 18.
The latter is through a line ;; 19 connected to the pressure tapping point of the stuffing box not shown. The rod 16 is also surrounded by a coiled pipe 20 placed in the cavity 18. by the constant amount of a coolant, preferably water. flows. The outflow of steam, respectively. the already formed condensate from the space 18 is dominated by an adjustable Ven valve 21, which at the same time in the space 18 upright essentially the same pressure: allows to maintain, as it prevails at the pressure removal point of the stuffing box.
Depending on the saturation temperature of the steam entering the space 18, the rod 16 will experience different degrees of warming and therefore either expand or contract and thereby. Since their connection point with the track bearing body is to be regarded as a fixed point, cause a shift of the non-rotating labyrinth combs for the purpose of setting the axial labyrinth play.
In Fig. 3, 22 denotes the body of a thrust bearing, otherwise not shown, and 23 is a claw of the lower housing part 24 of a turbine, which is also not illustrated. It is assumed that the non-rotating combs of a labyrinth stuffing box for the turbine are carried by the turbine housing. 25 denotes a body corresponding to the body 10 of the first exemplary embodiment. The water body has a cavity 26 into which the stuffing box extracted steam, and it is verbun at the left end at 27 with the bearing body 22 to the. while it is slidably disposed on the bearing body 22 at the right end.
The right end of the body 25 serves at the same time as a base for the housing claw 23, which transfers the weight taken up by it to the bearing body 22.
The body 25 and the claw 23 are connected by a wedge 28 in such a way that the housing 24 takes part in all linear expansions of the body 25, which means that the changes in length of the thermal expansion body 25 caused by the stuffing box getting into the same Steam, an automatic adjustment of the axial labyrinth play of the turbine stuffing box depending on the pressure prevailing at the pressure tapping point of the stuffing box.
The embodiment shown in FIG. 4 differs from the one shown in FIG. 3 essentially in that the thermal expansion body 25 is combined with the claw 2'3 of the lower turbine housing part.
In this case, 29 denotes the Lagerkör by a lane, otherwise not shown, and 30 denotes the cavity into which the steam extracted from the labyrinth stuffing box (not shown) enters, which depends on its saturation temperature, i.e. depending on the steam pressure prevailing at the pressure point of the stuffing box causes a more or less strong expansion of the claw 23 and thereby a change in the axial labyrinth game of the stuffing box not shown th.
The invention can also be used if .the stuffing box, for example, only in the part located in front of the pressure tapping point 13 or only in the part located behind this point has ridges with axial sealing teeth. The diameter of the various stuffing box parts in front of and behind the pressure extraction point 13 can also be different, for example to be able to compensate for at least part of the axial thrust that occurs.
Instead of the body 10, respectively. the Stan gene 16 or the parts 25 respectively. 23 to fasten directly on the thrust bearing body, they can also be attached to another part that determines the axial position of the thrust bearing 8.
The stuffing box can have, in addition to the pressure removal point 13 necessary for adjusting the clearance, further removal points, for example those which allow the leakage losses to be removed. The cavity 18 can also be connected to a point which simultaneously serves to discharge leakage losses, although it is then necessary to install a damming device (e.g. a diaphragm) in this discharge line, which causes an increase in the pressure when the packing box losses increase ,
respectively the decrease in pressure with decreasing packing box losses.
In order to maintain an adjustment of the axial labyrinth clearance according to the saturation temperature, which corresponds to the pressure prevailing at the pressure tapping point, even when operating with superheated steam, the space 11 in FIG. 18 in Fig. 2, respectively. 26 in Fig. 3, respectively. 30 in Fig. 4, be connected to the vapor space of a container,
which is under the pressure at the extraction point 13 and whose condensate drainage occurs. a float is regulated and in which any superheated steam that may enter is brought to the saturation state by cooling or water injection.
Instead of the pressure prevailing at the pressure tapping point of the stuffing box itself, a steam pressure regulated as a function of this pressure can also control the temperature .des the setting .des axial play causing @ heating expansion body 10 respectively. <B> 16 </B> and 25 resp. 23 affect. The pressure regulator can be designed in such a way that even slight fluctuations in the pressure in the pressure tapping point of the stuffing box cause very strong changes in the pressure in the thermal expansion body.
