A housing 1 for a repeater amplifier has a lid 2 which is secured thereto by two cross-arms 3, 4, pivotally attached via links 24 . . . 27 to two lugs (not shown) on one side of the housing and clamped at the other side, via a link 30 and bolt 32, to a further lug (not shown). The crossarms 3, 4, which are of inverted V-shape and are joined by rods 22, 23, exert pressure on the lid 2 by bearing on a semi-cylindrical projection 15 on the lid. A sealing member (not shown) is located in a groove in the seating surface of the lid rim. A spanner 33 for bolt 32 is held on link 30 by lug 34. The lid has handles 16, 17 and resting lugs 18 . . .21. The housing has cable inlets and outlets 5 . . .8 and legs (not shown) for fixing to a base.
