Abstract
1,021,311. Distortable frameworks. BROCKHOUSE STEEL STRUCTURES Ltd. April 26, 1962 [Jan. 26, 1961], No. 3017/61. Heading E1A. A deformable framework 1, 2, 3 for buildings is provided with bracing members 5 connected thereto by pivot connections 6, 8 and a resilient restraining unit 13, see also Figs. 3, 4 and 5 (not shown). Each connection 8 consists of a bell crank lever bolted to a cleat 7 with the inter position of friction discs therebetween, see Fig. 2 (not shown), the bell crank levers abutting aligned metal rods or hubs 13b of the unit 13. The cross beam 3 is coupled to the stanchions 1, 2 by pins 4 permitting limited angular movement.
