Abstract

1,020,693. Forging presses. SMERALOVY ZAVODY NARODNI PODNIK. July 10, 1964 [July 13, 1963], No. 28532/64. Heading B3H. A crank-operated vertical forging press has its pitman 2 connected to the press slide 1 by an eccentric pin 3 which can be rotated for releasing a jammed slide. The pin 3 is keyed to a lever 4 which is adjustable by. a threaded rod in pivot 5 for setting the slide position. If the slide becomes jammed the rod 6 is first released manually and hydraulic pressure fluid is then admitted to cylinder 8 causing piston 9 to press against an abutment 7 in the slide, or on the press frame, and thus rotate the pin 3. Alternatively the piston and cylinder may be provided on the slide 1 or on the press frame.
