Abstract

1,019,860. Springs. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Dec. 16, 1964, No. 51125/64. Heading F2S. One end of the upper leaf 6 of a leaf spring supporting a chassis 2 is slidable in an inverted U-shaped guide bracket having two depending legs 1a and an upper bridge portion 1b with a curved lower bearing surface, an inverted U- shaped plastics lining 3, made e.g. of polyurethane, being mounted within the bracket. The lining bridge portion 3b, narrower than the portion 1b is recessed into the latter to form a continuous bearing surface. The legs 3a of the lining are bowed inwardly of the bracket, and the leaf 6 has a hooked end 6a which coacts with a stop bush 5 mounted on a rod 4 between the bracket legs 1a to prevent withdrawal of the spring from the bracket.
