Abstract

The brake pad (12a) of a disc brake is supported on its lower edge by a part of the brake mounting bracket and is pressed downwards by the arms (23) of a leaf spring (22). The leaf spring is formed integrally with a collar (25) provided with axially projecting tags (26). The dimensions of the tags are such that when inserted into the bore of the brake piston (14) they exert a radial pressure which keeps the collar (25) in place. The retention of the collar is further improved by bending the ends of the tags (26) outwards in the form of an L. These outward projections are then fitted into a groove (36) in the piston bore.
