1,018,207. Suction cleaners. R. D. J. GRIFFITHS. May 1, 1963, No. 47280/64 Divided out of 1,018,206. Heading A4F. A compact suction cleaner for a motor vehicle comprises a housing 178 divided by an apertured partition 218 into a chamber containing the dust bag 214 connected to an air inlet 195 to which is attached a suction hose 208, and a chamber containing a motor 238 and a fan 230. The latter is disposed in a housing 231 having an air inlet 233 adjacent the motor shaft and an exhaust outlet 246. The wall 218 is formed with a U-shaped channel 224 for receiving the suction hose 208 when this is not in use. The upper and lower parts of the housing 178 are connected by a hinge 189 and having semi-cylindrical projections 193, 194 secured together by a nut 203 to form the air inlet 195.
